PolyPhotonix’ visit to HMS Bulwark

Invited by Captain James Parkin, Royal Navy Commanding Officer of HMS Bulwark, Melanie Winter and Dr Alex Cole from PolyPhotonix attended a Reception and Capability Demonstration on board the ship last night along with other members of the NETPark community.

They were treated to a tour of the ship by the marines and sailors, a talk from the Captain and a demonstration on the flight deck at sunset.

The Royal Navy warship, usually based in Plymouth, arrived in Sunderland on Wednesday. 300 sailors and marines will take part in a parade through Durham today, led by the Band of Her Majesty’s Royal Marines and ending with a service in Durham Cathedral. The ship will also take part in a 30 minute demonstration at the Sunderland International Airshow at the weekend.
